Saving Time With Your Beauty Routines

The holidays are coming soon and life can get pretty busy. Every year we try to keep everybody happy, and our homes and schedules organized and, by the way, look gorgeous and festive while doing it. Sound familiar? For me, the key is to simplify everything as much as possible during the holidays, and if I want to look put together and feel festive, I’ve got to have simple beauty routines.

Today, I’ve got tips for keeping your morning and evening beauty routines simple and efficient because, who has extra time for primping when your schedule is jam packed? This is the time of year to do what works and do it quickly.

The following tips you’ve probably heard before, but these are the tips that work for me when I’m super busy, like during the holidays, and maybe you’ll want to try them too.

SAVING TIME WITH YOUR EVENING ROUTINES

  1. Get your outfit ready for the next day, including jewelry, shoes, and purse. Click here for how to set up an organized wardrobe.
  2. Pack your purse with everything you’ll need in the morning.
  3. Do any mending, such as tightening buttons, fixing hems, and other quick fixes for your outfit.
  4. Consider showering and washing hair in the evening.
  5. Pre-style your hair, if possible, such as putting up in a bun, ponytail, or large rollers.
  6. Do your complete skincare routine in the evening, such as using masks and scrubs.
  7. File and polish nails.
  8. Use foot and hand treatments.
  9. Floss teeth.
  10. Lay out breakfast foods and prep the coffeepot.

SAVING TIME WITH YOUR MORNING ROUTINE

  1. Have an easy, streamlined routine. Have one routine for going out days and an easier routine for staying home days.
  2. As mentioned above, you should have your outfit ready but, if not, get your outfit ready while the coffee is brewing or warming up.
  3. Sip your coffee while getting ready.
  4. Organize your daily beauty products in a separate caddy that you can pull out of a cabinet and set on the countertop. Everything you need on a daily basis will always be together and easy to find.
  5. Use double-duty products as much as possible. This could be an in-shower lotion, all-in-one body wash and shampoo, an eye shadow palette for lids and brows, or a creme blush and lipstick combo.
  6. Save time in the shower by leaving in your hair conditioner while shaving. Also, use your face cleanser in the shower.
  7. Use a scented lotion instead of cologne.
  8. For more volume in your hair, dry your hair, then put in velcro rollers and leave them in while doing your makeup.
  9. Keep your hair products together. You could use a separate caddy for them, just like you do with your other beauty products.
  10. Have an easy makeup routine that works. Use quality products that work every time, especially for days that you’re going out. Consider have an easier makeup routine for days that you’re staying home. For instance, skip concealer, use eyeliner or mascara but not both, and try a foundation/powder combo product.

Those are my tips for simplifying your beauty routines, especially through the holidays. This is the time to be efficient with our schedules, wardrobes, and beauty routines. In case you missed my previous posts for saving time, check out these:
