Daily Home Maintenance Routine Checklist

Good morning! How’s your house looking today? Mine? A little messy, to be honest. The sad part is yesterday was cleaning day and I really can’t even tell.

I’m pretty good at sticking to my weekly cleaning day, but on the flip side, I’ve never been very good about maintaining it. I guess it doesn’t bother me unless somebody drops by and I realize I’ve got dust on the coffee table and crumbs on the kitchen floor. Oops, that is so embarrassing. So, I’ve decided to do better with a daily home maintenance routine that I’ll do every morning.

Today, I’m going to share with you my new daily home maintenance routine. I would love for you all to share in the comments below how you maintain your home on a daily basis.

First, let me remind you that this might not work for everyone, so adapt and adjust according to your schedule, the size of your house, and, of course, how messy it gets from kids and pets.

Daily Home Maintainance Routine Checklist

My plan is to do the following every morning for about 30 minutes:

  1. Open blinds.
  2. Pick up clutter.
  3. Do a light dusting in living room.
  4. Unload and reload dishwasher.
  5. Sweep kitchen floor.
  6. Take out the trash.
  7. Wipe down all bathrooms.
  8. Feed pets. You’re welcome, Gypsy.
  9. Start laundry.
  10. Plan dinner and get meat out of freezer to thaw.

That pretty much covers my new daily home maintenance routine that I plan to start doing every morning. I think I can get all that done in about 30 minutes if I move quickly.

In case you think I forgot to make my bed, I can tell you that one of my best habits that I started a long time ago, is that I always make my bed as soon as I get up in the morning. Yes, even before coffee. I’ve even got my husband to do the same. Whoever wakes up last gets the job of making the bed. HaHa.

If you work outside the home, you might need to just do a few essentials in the morning or even better, do some things the night before for a smoother morning.

Did that give you some ideas? Please let me know your morning routine in the comments below.

Till next time, have a wonderful day!
