28 Ways To Be Productive At Home

Are you tired of being stuck at home most of the time? Whether it’s due to the pandemic or these really cold winter days, I think we’re all starting to look forward to spring and better times. I know I am.

I actually love winter. Yep, people are shocked when I say that. I actually enjoy staying home and puttering around the house. But, still, I’m ready to get out and do some fun things outdoors.

I’ve decided to take advantage of this last full month of winter and try to get some things accomplished that I never seem to have time for. With a full 4 weeks in February, I feel pretty hopeful.

I’ve come up with a list of 28 ways to be productive at home in February. It seems like a lot, but if I spread out everything for a whole month, I should be able to get at least most of these things organized and ready to start a new season.

Today, I’m sharing my list. Use some of my ideas or come up with your own and let’s see how productive we can be this month. Sound good?

By the way, I included a few fun things at the end just to enjoy and make the most of this cozy month of February. We all need a few things to look forward to in our day, right?

If you’ve read how I plan goals in six different life areas, you’ll see that most of these ideas are from each category.

28 Ways To Be Productive At Home

  1. Catch up on online Worship services.
  2. Start a new daily devotional for the month of February.
  3. Do a Spiritual Gifts Assessment and think about how you can serve in a new ministry after the pandemic.
  4. Reconnect with extended family through phone calls or Zoom.
  5. Make plans for family vacation for this coming spring or summer.
  6. Plan a special Valentine’s Day date night. Make reservations now.
  7. Focus on getting healthier. Think of some bad habits you need to change and commit to it for just this month. You probably won’t want to go back to your old habits.
  8. Exercise. Commit to just 4 solid weeks of exercising at least 5 days out of each week. Again, you’ll probably want to continue this new routine.
  9. Healthy eating. Look for a realistic healthy eating plan, or make up your own. Commit to it for at least 4 weeks.
  10. Try new recipes. Take this extra time at home to try new recipes you’ve always wanted to try.
  11. Get more sleep and rest. Get yourself into a regular bedtime routine. You’ll feel so much healthier this Spring!
  12. Re-organize your wardrobe. Challenge yourself to wear every piece of clothing and accessories that you love. Winter will be over soon, so you might as well wear everything now.
  13. Read 4 books this month and read one each week. Pick from fiction or non-fiction or maybe both.
  14. Get financial paperwork organized into a file system and get ready for tax time.
  15. Write out your long-term financial goals and make a plan to get there.
  16. Write out your ideal monthly budget with a margin for savings. Use this as a template every month when writing your budget.
  17. Set up a tracking system for bills and miscellaneous expenses.
  18. Write a list of ways you can cut back on expenses to save more each month.
  19. Do some deep cleaning projects.
  20. Pick 1 or 2 organizing projects that you’ve been putting off.
  21. Try to use up all your cleaning supplies that are hidden away in cabinets.
  22. Write a Spring home maintenance list and plan when you will do each one. Mark them all on your calendar and get ready to start.
  23. Plan out your Spring gardening projects.
  24. Catch up on special work projects that you’ve been too busy to do. If you’re working from home, maybe you can squeeze in an extra hour here and there.
  25. Look for volunteer opportunities through your church or community.
  26. Mornings – Linger a little longer with your coffee and have extra reading time for your Devotional book or one of your 4 books you’ve chosen.
  27. Afternoons – Take a 30 minute break for a nap, cup of tea, or walk around the neighborhood.
  28. Evenings – Get cozy for the evening. Use your fireplace, grab a cup of tea, and watch a good movie or TV show, or read your book.

The last 3 things on the list aren’t really productive, but they are fun and will perk you up through your time at home.

Use this list however you wish. If it sounds like too much, just pick a few. The whole point is for you to finish up the winter feeling better, not worse, and ready for the next season, SPRING!!!

Till next time, have a wonderful cozy day!
