  Christmas Party Planning Checklist   Welcome back to the Holiday Planning Series! If you’re new here, you might want to go back and read through the Holiday Planning Checklist. We’re now about halfway through the plan so, hopefully, you’re caught up and feeling festive! If not, it’s ok. This is the time to look at where you’re at, see what you still have left to do, and revise your plan to get everything done.

     If you’ve got most of your shopping done and put up your tree and decorations, you might feel ready to plan a party. Well, today, I’ve got a checklist to help you organize and plan a fun party. Start as early as possible and just work through the checklist, step-by-step. 

 Here’s the countdown to a fun, festive party!

 

1-2 WEEKS BEFORE 

  • Plan a date, time, and theme (or style of party such as formal or informal).
  • Write a guest list.
  • Invite by phone, email, or formal invitation.
  • Plan the menu and write a grocery list.
  • Plan your outfit and accessories. Shop, if necessary.

1 WEEK BEFORE

  • Count your RSVPs.
  • Buy groceries and decorations.

2 DAYS BEFORE

  • Clean and decorate.

DAY BEFORE

  • Prepare food for the party as much as possible, especially desserts and hor d’oeuvres. (Whew! I had to look up the spelling on that one. lol)

DAY OF PARTY

Morning:

  • Finish cleaning house and decorating.
  • Get your outfit and accessories ready.
  • Finish fixing food, but put in refrigerator till the party. Set the table if having a sit-down meal.

2 Hours before:

  • Get dressed and ready.
  • Finish preparing the food. Set everything out.
  • Turn on lights, light candles, and make sure everything looks pretty. 

PARTY TIME

  • Smile, open the door, and greet your guests!

 

     I hope this checklist helps you to organize and plan a fun, festive party. This time of year, remember to keep it simple and stressfree, making memories and enjoying your family and friends.
